How and why are domains added to the toxic lists?

A web host contacted me to let me know that a domain I hold is listed in the toxic domains list at https://www.stopforumspam.com/downloads/toxic_domains_whole.txt

I'd like to understand how the domain came to be added to the list.

Looking at Wayback Machine, I can see we last actively used the domain in 2016. Wayback Machine also shows that by April 2017 the domain started returning a holding page, with no sign up option or other contact data displayed, which is still the case to date.

We're not using the domain, so we've no reason to be spamming forums with the domain.

We never took such action during the period the domain was active either.

Additionally we've never employed any third party to promote the domain.

It was just used in conjunction with an Etsy shop.

Is there any mechanism for me to request data to explain why a domain assigned to me is being publicly listed as toxic?

I *did* find that domain within the Toxic Domains download. As promised, I have copied my reply to you to pedigree. He is a bit busy with work & family but will respond within a few days.

I've removed this entry as I cannot prove why it was added. the download files are being regenerated at the moment

Hi,

Our school domain, "benilde.edu.ph" is an educational institution from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde from Manila, Philippines. For some reason, our domain is listed under "toxic domains"; I would like to know why this is the case, and if possible, to remove our domain from the toxic domains list.

Our domain has suddenly been tagged as a "disposable email domain", which is not true, and upon searching, we were referred to the toxic domains list in this site.

I am hoping that this can be rectified.
